Rudy Fernandez bids eternal farewell at 56
Filipino movie action star Rudy Fernandez passed away at age 56 on Saturday 6:15 am at his home in White Plains, Quezon City from periampullary cancer.
Daboy had been combating the disease for over two years and had undergone several treatments (such as chemotherapy) here and abroad, with all the support of his actress wife, Lorna Tolentino, and his two children with her.
Daboy’s first film was “Bitayin si Baby Ama” in 1976, which opened doors for him in action movie genre. It 1984, he brought home his best actor awards from the FAMAS and Star Awards for the movie “Batuigas…Pasukuin si Waway” and the second in his “Victor Corpuz” movie in 1988.
